Kwankwasiyya Development Foundation

A short history of Kwankwasiyya Development Foundation

Kwankwasiyya Development Foundation (KDF) is an initiative by His Excellency, Senator Engr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso to empower people across Nigeria. Through the foundation, Kwankwaso supported many young people to pursue their education with continued financial assistance across the world. The foundation has recently sponsored 370 for overseas postgraduate scholarship. Upon completion of their studies, many of the scholars have secured jobs with various national and international organisations such as Dangote and Bua Groups under the Kwankwasiyya Job Fair – a noble initiative organised by the KDF on 27th February, 2021 to secure jobs to thousands of graduates across Nigeria.
The broad objective of the KDF is to promote literacy and alleviate people from extreme poverty in Kano state and Nigeria at large. In line with this objective, the KDF has secured the release of 170 inmates in various prison across Nigeria by paying their fines and provided transport to enable them to get to their destinations and reunite with their families. The foundation has also donated sports kits and financial support worth over 150 million naira to amateur football clubs across states in Nigeria. Regularly, it donates cash and food items to the poor and the needy including widows, people with special needs and orphans in an effort to empower them to realise their potentials.
